Our Work is About Protection, Stability, and Capacity

Special education does not fail because educators do not care. It fails when systems are unclear, expectations are inconsistent, and teachers are asked to carry legal, instructional, and emotional responsibility without adequate support.GIMO Special Education Services & Consulting exists to protect special education programs by strengthening systems, improving compliance, and developing educator capacity so schools can deliver services effectively and retain qualified teachers. We partner with school and district leaders who know that special education cannot be managed reactively — and who understand that compliance, staff stability, and student outcomes are deeply connected.

Why Choose GIMO

Across districts, special education leaders face the same pressures:

  • High turnover in special education roles
  • Inconsistent IEP quality and documentation
  • Teachers entering classrooms underprepared for case management demands
  • Limited capacity to coach, train, and monitor effectively
  • Growing concern about compliance, audits, and parent complaints

When these pressures go unaddressed, programs become fragile. Teachers burn out. Students fail to make meaningful progress toward IEP goals. Parents lose trust. Administrators carry risk without infrastructure.

GIMO was created to interrupt this cycle.

We help schools move from fragile systems to sustainable practice.

Our Strategy

GIMO’s work is grounded in the belief that compliance and instructional quality are not competing priorities — they are interdependent.

Our approach is:

  • Systems-focused — We examine structures, processes, and expectations, not just individual performance.
  • Compliance-driven — All work aligns with IDEA and state regulations.
  • Educator-centered — We develop teacher capacity without blame or burnout.
  • Practical and actionable — No generic PD. No theoretical frameworks without application.

Our Leadership

Meet Our Leader

GIMO is led by Elizabeth Pratt, a certified special educator, consultant, and professional development leader with extensive experience supporting special education teachers, school leaders, and districts.

Elizabeth has worked within multiple school systems and understands the realities of special education from every angle — classroom instruction, IEP development, compliance oversight, and educator coaching.

Her work is informed by:

  • Deep knowledge of special education law and best practices
  • Firsthand experience with educator burnout and turnover
  • A commitment to ethical, compliant, and student-centered service delivery

Elizabeth’s leadership ensures that GIMO’s work is not theoretical — it is grounded in the day-to-day realities schools face.

What Makes Us Unique?

GIMO is not a one-size-fits-all consulting firm.

We are different because we:

  • Understand the legal and instructional demands of special education
  • Address root causes, not surface-level symptoms
  • Support educators while holding systems accountable
  • Balance compliance protection with human sustainability

Our goal is not just improvement — it is stability, confidence, and longevity in special education programs.

Who We Support

GIMO primarily partners with:

  • School and district administrators
  • Executive directors and coordinators of special education
  • Principals overseeing special education programs
  • Special education teachers and case managers

While our primary focus is systems-level support for schools, GIMO also supports students and families through our SPARKED Tutoring Network, which provides specialized tutoring and advocacy led by qualified special educators.

Our Promise To You

We believe that when educators are supported and systems are clear:

  • Teachers stay
  • Students make meaningful progress
  • Parents trust the process
  • Schools reduce risk and operate with confidence

That is the work we do — and the standard we hold.
