CHARTER SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION CASE STUDY
CHALLENGE
THE CLIENT
St. Johns Charter School had been struggling to meet the needs of students with disabilities, particularly in the area of behavior management. The school had high rates of suspension and disciplinary referrals for students with disabilities, and staff were struggling to manage challenging behaviors in the classroom.
SOLUTION
GIMO Consulting was engaged to provide support to the district in the area of behavior management. GIMO conducted a needs assessment to identify the root causes of behavior challenges, and worked with school staff to develop a customized behavior management plan.

The behavior management plan developed by GIMO's Consulting was successful in reducing the number of disciplinary referrals and suspensions for students with disabilities. St. John's saw a 50% reduction in disciplinary referrals for students with disabilities, and a 30% reduction in suspensions.
Additionally, teachers reported feeling more confident in their ability to manage challenging behaviors in the classroom, and student outcomes improved as a result. The school was able to provide more effective support to students with disabilities, resulting in improved academic performance and increased engagement.
