Mrs. Elizabeth Pratt is a dynamic and communicative leader with 15+ years of combined experience with multiple educational settings & supervisory roles. Her professional background includes event programming; building internal/eternal community relations; and implementing strategy development initiatives. She has 10+ years within the education industry and has previously served in various roles within the public school system. Currently, Mrs. Pratt has served seven years in the Exceptional Children's field with both educational and professional experience combined.
Previously, Mrs. Pratt's professional background as a nurse revealed a love of patient teacher and she realized her heart was in education. Mrs. Pratt pursued an Associate's Degree in the Arts from Central Piedmont community College; transferred to Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Ministries with a concentration in Christian Education. Upon which, Mrs. Pratt felt a calling to pursue a specialized degree in Special education. She enrolled and received a Master of the Arts in Teaching Special Education (grades K-12th) from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Mrs. Pratt also received an Advanced M Class North Carolina Professional Educator's License in Special Education. While enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Mrs. Pratt shadowed, observed, and co-taught with Exceptional Children's teachers in Mecklenburg and Union County. She gained educational experience working with Exceptional Children in small groups, large groups, and one-on-one. Mrs. Pratt received training and experience analyzing student learning, applying Evidence Based Practices, and practiced targeted interventions to impact student learning.
As Executive Director, Pratt pursued her educational degree, she simultaneously developed a HEART for the homeschooling community. She homeschooled her three children in elementary, middle, and high school. Mrs. Pratt loved being able to personalize the education for her children; develop their strengths; assess; target learning gaps and challenges. In homeschool, she formed relationships and partnered with community businesses to provide educational programs for homeschoolers.
Since her completion of her Master in Arts in Teaching Special Education, Mrs. Pratt has worked with Exceptional Children as a teacher and case manager. Through her experience, she has gained knowledge of state and local laws that govern the Exceptional Children's program. Her HEART for education and her passion to make education accessible to all students is where GIMO Consulting is birthed. Mrs. Pratt's HEART for her students and their success is evident in the thorough detail she took as case manager for 100+ Exceptional students. Mrs. Pratt believes in forming positive lasting relationships with her students, parents, families. schools, and communities.
Mrs. Pratt also has a HEART for community initiatives and community involvement. She has implemented various youth programming through her local church. SAT Masterclass, Intergenerational round table discussions, Youth Excelling in Ministry Workshop, etc. Currently, Mrs. Pratt serves as the Children's Church Director & Christian Minister. Through this platform, she has rallied during the pandemic to create a children's virtual platform called The Eagle Meet-Up and a Children's Church Website as a way to provide a place for the young children to grow in Jesus Christ. In addition, the website provides a place for children to gather, learn more about the Savior, and interact with each other and the local church at large. Mrs. Pratt initiated Reading Spotlights. In addition, GIMO Consulting is pleased to partner with non-profit organizations within the community who educate and inspire disadvantaged youth.
